In music, movement plays a particularly important role because it enables children to assimilate and remember songs and rhymes more easily than would be the case if they were no associated imaginative dramitisation or other movements.

Movement also develops motor co-ordination using large as well as small movements and hand-eye co-ordination.

Movement experiences help to develop the sense of rythym.  Without movement, children’s understanding of rhythm may not fully develop or become secure.
